Patrick was sent to Washington Youth Academy, a military school for troubled youth. At age 18, Patrick graduated with honors from the Academy—a changed young man, once boisterous and playful, now serious and dedicated to a life of servitude and prayer. He was offered a position as a Catholic priest at the St. Peter’s School for Boys and gratefully accepted.

However, a priest that he served with awakened his awareness of sexual passion. As much as he has tried to run from it, taking his own vows to the priesthood, and committing himself to the arch conservative Catholic community of Opus Dei, he has not been able to escape the lure of the sexual temptation that young altar boys provide. Father Sargent had hoped that a fresh start would allow him to leave his sinful ways behind him. Opus Dei commands that the flesh must be humbled to God’s will even with corporal discipline, if necessary, but no amount of punishment will quench his desire for the bodies of the handsome innocent young men in the church.
